Start Your Day at Capitol Lake

Kick off your day with a stroll around Capitol Lake. This serene spot offers picturesque views, easy walking trails, and plenty of spots for that perfect Instagram shot. Feel like getting a bit more active? Rent a kayak and paddle around the lake for a different perspective of the city!

Explore the Washington State Capitol

Just a stone’s throw from Capitol Lake is the Washington State Capitol. Take a free guided tour of this impressive building to soak in some history and enjoy the stunning architecture. Don’t forget to snap a few photos in the magnificent Legislative Building and its surrounding gardens.

Stroll Through Squaxin Park

One of our favorite gems in the city to explore is Squaxin park. Just minutes from downtown, this 314 acre park features everything you’d hope to find in a city park, plus some. At the heart of the park is Ellis Cove Trail, leading to a one mile stretch of saltwater shoreline, leading to beautiful views of downtown Olympia and the state capital.
